Parvovirus, also known as parvo, is a highly contagious and potentially fatal disease that affects puppies. The virus is shed in the feces of infected dogs and can survive in the environment for months. Puppies are most susceptible to parvo between the ages of 6 and 20 weeks, and unvaccinated puppies are at the highest risk of developing the disease.
